W budynku, w którym od trzech lat działa Sądeckie Hospicjum, powstał Zakład Opiekuńczo-Leczniczy dla osób przewlekle chorych. Placówka czeka na uruchomienie. Oddział jest przygotowany na przyjęcie chorych. Powstał na pierwszym piętrze budynku, w którym mieści się Sądeckie Hospicjum. Na ten cel zostały zaadaptowane pomieszczenia, które dotychczas nie były użytkowane. Budynek rozbudowano o klatkę schodową, w której zamontowano windę. Prace adaptacyjne trwały niespełna pięć miesięcy.W oddziale długoterminowej opieki kompleksową opieką i rehabilitacją objętych będzie 22 pacjentów.30 lipca umowę gwarantującą dofinansowanie zrealizowanego zadania na ręce wiceprezes Towarzystwa Przyjaciół Chorych „Sądeckie Hospicjum” Dominiki Kroczek przekazał wicemarszałek Województwa Małopolskiego Stanisław Sorys.Adaptacja pomieszczeń dla potrzeb oddziału i rozbudowa budynku kosztowała ponad 1,1 mln złotych, z czego ponad 967 tys. złotych było to dofinansowanie unijne, jakie Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Sądeckie Hospicjum uzyskało w ramach projektu, który został złożony do Małopolskiego Regionalnego Programu Operacyjnego 2007 – 2013. Na oddział opieki długoterminowej trafiać będą osoby przewlekle chore, po udarach, złamaniach kręgosłupa, osoby, które nie są w stanie, z powodu choroby, same funkcjonować.
